This past Father's Day, our family watched The Jazz Singer (1980). We didn't watch for the film. We watched for the opening scene and my dad, better known to my children as Grandpa Woody. No credits, no name on a billboard. But there he was sharing the screen with Sir Laurence Olivier and Neil Diamond. And just like that, he was right there with us again.
My daughter's words the next day shifted everything: Take the photographs. Ask the questions. Cherish the memories today.
