This past Father's Day, our family watched The Jazz Singer (1980). Not for the film, but for my dad, better known as Grandpa Woody in the opening scene. No credits, no name on a billboard. But there he was sharing the screen with Sir Laurence Olivier and Neil Diamond. For a brief instant, he was with us again.
My daughter's words the next day shifted everything: Take the photographs. Ask the questions. Cherish the memories today.
